What’s new in Windows 10 version 1703
For details about what’s new see the following post from Microsoft.
What diagnostic data is captured by Windows 10 version 1703 ?
Microsoft blogged the following to explain what diagnostic data is captured in Window 10 version 1703.
The data covered in the article is grouped into the following categories:
- Common Data (diagnostic header information)
- Device, Connectivity, and Configuration data
- Product and Service Usage data
- Product and Service Performance data
- Software Setup and Inventory data
- Content Consumption data
- Browsing, Search and Query data
- Inking, Typing, and Speech Utterance data
- Licensing and Purchase data
Should I use MSDN media in production ?
No, use VLSC media in production, for more details see my earlier post on the subject here. Windows 10 version 1703 is not yet available on VLSC (as of 2017/4/6) however it will be released in the coming weeks. You can use MSDN media to test the new products in your lab.
What about ADK 1703 and ConfigMgr ?
I’d hold off on using this ADK on ConfigMgr for now especially if you are running Server 2016 as there’s a driver signing error at the end of the ADK install meaning it’s not working correctly. The workaround is to temporarily disable secure boot to allow it and then re-enable it, but let’s see what Microsoft does with this release. Perhaps they’ll re-release it.
